GAYA: The degree Part-III exams of Magadh University (MU), which were postponed mid-way on account of excessive rainfall and subsequent waterlogging, will resume on October 12.
MU vice- chancellor Rajendra Prasad ordered the postponement of the exam on September 29. According to Prof Binod Singh, controller of exams, the examination of the remaining papers will now be held between October 12 and 17.
The exams will be held at 58 centres spread over seven districts, including Patna and Nalanda.
An estimated 1.33 lakh students of 44 constituents, four government-funded minority colleges and 66 affiliated colleges of Magadh and Pataliputra Universities are appearing for the exams. Asked about the evaluation of answer books, Singh said the evaluation schedule will be finalized shortly. "More than 60% of the examinees are from colleges that now form part of Pataliputra University. These students were admitted before the creation of Pataliputra University and as such they have to appear at exams conducted by MU. The students appearing at the ongoing exam were admitted in 2016 in the three-year degree course," Singh said.
