The decision was taken at the meetings of various statutory committees, including academic council and syndicate, of the university on Friday.
Vice-chancellor Ranjit Kumar Verma said the courses will include family management, food quality and safety management and security and investigations. He said the admission ordinance and examination regulations of all these courses would be sent to the Raj Bhavan for the chancellor’s nod. Teaching in these subjects would start only after that, he said.
The state education department had earlier sanctioned to the university as many as 12 schools, namely school of life sciences, school of chemical sciences, school of physical sciences, school of mathematical sciences, school of computer sciences, school of commerce and management studies, school of humanities, school of social sciences, school of yogic sciences, school of earth and planetary sciences, school of legal studies and school of continuing learning and professional development studies.
The university also granted affiliation to 11 colleges on the basis of reports submitted by its inspection teams. It also decided to discontinue Intermediate teaching from two of its degree colleges — R D and D J College, Munger and Kosi College, Khagaria. It also constituted a committee for rationalization of seats in different courses in the light of infrastructure and faculty strength, Verma added.
