NELLORE: For the first time since the assembly election, the itineraries of chief minister Jaganmohan Reddy and Opposition leader N Chandrababu are set to coincide. While Jagan will be launching YSR Rythu Bharosa in Kakutur village, Sarvepalli assembly constituency, on Tuesday, Naidu, who is on a two-day visit to Nellore, will be reviewing party activities on the same day.

On October 13, an alleged clash broke out between YSRC and TDP activists in Nellore rural mandal. Although, police said that a land dispute in the village led to the clash, TDP claimed that workers of the ruling party attacked their cadre. At least four TDP workers were injured in the incident. It was no surprise that the atmosphere in the district remained tense on Monday with the district administration pulling out all the stops to ensure that both the visits are peaceful. Additional forces have been deputed at venues where both leaders are set to address gatherings to prevent untoward incidents.
Meanwhile, the YSRC leadership directed all district legislators to mobilise crowd for the chief minister’s public meeting, which will be held following the formal launch of the scheme. The government chose to launch the scheme in the district considering that it has the highest number of small land holding farmers.
Naidu, on the other hand, on the first day of his visit reviewed party work with leaders from Udayagiri, Venkatagiri, Sullurpet, Gudur and Atmakur. On Tuesday he will review party affairs in Sarvepalli, Kovuru, Nellore rural, Kavali and Nellore city and meet TDP workers and their families who were alleged attacked by YSRC workers and will distribute compensations among them. Ahead of that Nellore city DSP Srinivasula Reddy and RDO Hussain Saheb discussed security and protocol arrangements with former minister Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy, who is managing Naidu’s tour.
