Hearing impaired students enjoy space shows at Nashik planetarium

The Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) on Friday conducted a free show for the hearing-impaired students of Mai Lele school at its Yashwantrao Chavan Planetarium.

NASHIK: The Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) on Friday conducted a free show for the hearing-impaired students of Mai Lele school at its Yashwantrao Chavan Planetarium here. This was the first time the special show 'Wonders of the Universe' was screened for the hearing-impaired students.
Around 70 students and 12 teachers attended the show specially made by Nehru Palenetarium. The show had been organised jointly by the NMC and Rotary Club of Nashik in view of the World Space Week, observed between October 4 to 10.

"The special feature of this show was that the narration was accompanied by sign-language for the benefit of the hearing-impaired students. The objective is to impart knowledge of the universe to to such students," said Apurva Jakhadi, a member of the planetarium advisory committee of NMC.
