NEW DELHI: Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) is finally going to induct new buses in its fleet. DTC had earlier floated tenders for 1,000 CNG-run AC low-floor buses, the bids for which have now been opened.
"This is another step towards strengthening the bus fleet. The bids have been opened in which Tata Motors has the lowest quotation followed by JBM," state transport minister Kailash Gahlot said, adding that now Delhi cabinet approval was required.

The minister later tweeted: "We stand committed to strengthening the transport under able leadership of chief minister Arvind Kejriwal."
Gahlot said DTC has also floated tenders for 300 low-floor electric buses. The last date for the submission of bids is November 13.
Delhi is expected to get 3,000 new buses in the next 7-8 months, chief minister Arvind Kejriwal had said in August.
