Miss Earth Fiji 2019, Zaira Begg wore a fluttery, lacy red gown with a side slit in the Evening Gown category. Her dress was put together by a Filipino designer, Joey Ramirez.

Miss Earth Fiji 2019 Zaira Begg’s evening gown was designed by a Filipino designer, Joey Ramirez.

Joey Ramirez is the owner of Joey Ramirez Fashion and Designs based at Bagbaguin, Valenzuela City in the Philippines.

Miss Begg wore a fluttery, lacy red gown with a side slit in the Evening Gown category.

Ms Ramirez said she tried to portray a combination of femininity and class in Miss Begg’s gown for the evening wear.

“A combination of femininity and class with a touch of flow that gives shape and accent with detailed embroidery, laces with butterfly,” designer Ramirez said.

The 46-year-old has been in the fashion and designing industry for two decades.

She has dressed many Valenzuela politicians and celebrities.

Ms Ramirez described Miss Earth Fiji 2019 as a sweet individual with a good heart.

“I give her my full support in this pageant.

“I talk to her time to time I see she’s available. She is so sweet, stunning, has a good heart, so kind and awesome, I love her!

“I decided to support her in whatever things she needs in her journey as a candidate for Ms Earth 2019. I designed her bikini as well and now I’m working on her floras for the event on the October 26th”

Apart from being a fashion designer, Ms Ramirez paints as well.  She recently ventured into microblade tattooing.

Ms Begg’s national costume was designed by a local team of Ash Phaneuf and his team at Wedding Hair/Makeup Perfectionist Fiji.

“Our team here are so honoured for the opportunity to design this costume for our country,” Mr Phaneuf posted on his Facebook page.

Miss Begg got acquainted to the Filipino designer, Ms Ramirez through Mr Phaneu.
