JALPAIGURI: The skin of a full-grown Bengal tiger and 110 pieces of bones were recovered from two Bhutanese nationals in Alipurduar's Hasimara on Tuesday evening.
The accused, Yongba-a retired Bhutanese army man- and Namgay Wangdi, residents of Pemagatshel, were arrested by foresters of Baikunthapur Forest Division in Jalpaiguri, with the help of local cops. Measuring 14 feet in length, the tiger is suspected to have been in the prime of age.
The skin bore two bullet marks.
"The tiger was poached recently, probably in Assam," Belakoba ranger Sanjay Dutta said. The accused said they were taking the skin and the bones to Kathmandu, from where they were supposed to be sent to China
