New projects in pipeline to make Warangal cleaner
Warangal: After Telangana principal secretary Arvind Kumar’s visit here to inspect smart city works, the city’s collector Prashanth J Patil said tenders would soon be called for two major projects.
“We are going to call for tenders for a Faecal Sludge Treatment Plant (FSTP) with a capacity of 150 KLD (kilo liters per day) and for the capping at Rampur dumpyard on lines of Jawahar Nagar,” Patil said.
He also said Kumar had revised some aspects of the draft master plan of Warangal and suggested a few changes on the lines of the HMDA master plan.
Warangal aims to be a model sanitation city. Officials say it is the first city in the country to have introduced Faecal Sludge Management (FSM) regulation in March 2016 and ratified the guidelines.
