BAHARAL (MALDA): A Trinamool leader allegedly shot at a man over a land dispute here on Friday morning. The injured man, Sintu Sk, is at Malda Medical College. The incident has also triggered a political blame game.
Sk has a 10-cottah plot that TMC leader Yeasin, the husband of zilla parishad member Payel Khatun, had been allegedly trying to gr-ab. He had allegedly threatened Sk earlier with dire consequences over the land.

Sk’s wife Salma Biwi said: “Hasim Sk, brother of Yeasin, came with his gang to grab the land. My husband protested. After a heated exchange, Hasim fired at him, injuring his leg. The miscreants hurled bombs, too.”
Villagers rushed Sk to a local hospital. As his condition worsened, he was referred to Malda Medical College. Salma said: “People in the area are scared of Yeasin. Taking advantage of this, his brothers grab land.”
TMC leader Dulal Sarkar denied his party was involved. He said: “I’ve heard it was the outcome of a land di-spute. Police will take action.” BJP leader Ajoy Ganguly said: “Yeasin unleashes terror at Ratua with the help of the ruling party and police. Everyone is aware of the jungle raj. The incident isn’t new. There was firing even on the eve of Muharram. But police took no action.”
SP Alok Rajoria, said: “We have got the complaint and are looking into it.”
