Howrah: Three held for deaths of newly weds

HOWRAH: Three suspects were arrested on Saturday for their alleged connection with the deaths of newly weds Amit Burman (23) and Reshmi Burman (21) on Thursday night.
Amit's parents Onkar Burman, Koushalya and brother Rajesh were arrested following a police complaint lodged by Reshmi's father Arun Prasad Verma, who reached Howrah on Saturday from his home in Bihar's Nalanda.In his complaint, Verma said he suspected his daughter and son-in-law may have committed suicide after torture by Amit's family. Howrah City Police's DC South Swati Bhangalia said, "The three have been arrested and charged under sections 498A and 304 IPC, among other sections."
In his complaint, Verma stated that his daughter was tortured for dowry and his son-in-law has harassed to earn more.
