Irish software firm Xtremepush has signed a "game-changing" deal with LiveScore, a hugely popular global digital sports publisher with more than 50 million active users.

LiveScore provides real-time updates, fixtures, results, scores, statistics and news on a wide range of sports, primarily soccer. Dublin-based Xtremepush will handle its push notifications, messages and other communications, providing fans with live scores and related content.

Xtremepush - set to almost double its staff to 80 over the next year - will provide LiveScore with analysis of user behaviour and fans with personalised real-time updates on their favourite teams.

"This deal is very significant for us," said Xtremepush CTO and co-founder Kevin Collins.

"LiveScore are a marquee client in the publishing vertical, with scale beyond belief. Working with them will help us to grow even further.

"We have been doing 100pc growth year-on- year and are targeting that again this year.

"We are actively looking at acquisitions not just to buy revenue, but to also buy capability that can seamlessly come into the offering."
