SECUNDERABAD: Deputy speaker T Padma Rao urged the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) officials to find a permanent solution to the sewerage issue in
Secunderabad constituency.
He said the sewerage system in Secunderabad was pathetic and urged the officials to resolve the overflowing
sewage problem immediately. At a review meeting with officials here on Saturday, he said: “Complaints from apartment owners and slum dwellers on overflowing sewer water are pouring in.
The Nizam era sewerage system in Secunderabad constituency has to be changed,” he said.
The deputy speaker wanted a new sewerage system in
Sitaphalmandi, Manikeswari Nagar, Mohammedguda, Parsigutta, Addagutta, Lalapet, Chilkalguda,
Tarnaka, Tukaram Gate and Mettuguda on a priority. He also asked officials to provide mini air-tech machines to check overflowing sewage.
Padma Rao urged the water board managing director M Dana Kishore to allot adequate funds for the works. He also said that work on the proposed service water reservoirs in Secunderabad should be speeded up.
Dana Kishore said that mini air-tech machines would be deployed soon to tackle overflowing sewerage.
