It will be a rainy start to festive season as the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Hyderabad has issued a heavy rainfall warning till October 24.
After a short break, rains made a comeback to the city on Sunday with many areas receiving up to 40mm rainfall in a span of few hours. According to the Telangana State Development Planning Society, Bandlaguda received highest rainfall of 42.3mm followed by 39.8mm in Charminar, 37.5mm in Sardarmahal, 36.3mm in Ramachandrapuram, 35mm in Asifnagar among others.
IMD, has attributed heavy rains to a low pressure area over east central Arabian Sea along with a trough that runs across interior parts of north Karnataka and Telangana.

“Under the influence of these systems, light to moderate rain and thundershowers would continue in many parts of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana for another two to three days. Meanwhile, the day will be slightly warm and humid with cloudy sky conditions but the night would remain on the comfortable side,” read a weather report issued by Skymet, an independent weather forecasting agency.
Skymet further added that the existing rainfall activity is highly beneficial for all major crops in the state.
