Police have said a man believed to be in his fifties died, and four other men were injured in a crash south of Kyogle on Sunday.
Emergency services went to the crash scene at Summerland Way, near Runnymede Road, around 1.45pm after reports a Kia Rio travelling north crashed into four motorcycles travelling south.
Police said one of the riders, believed to be a 55-year-old man, suffered critical injuries and died at the scene.
Another rider, a 56-year-old man, reportedly suffered serious injuries and was taken to Lismore Base Hospital before being airlifted to Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
The other two riders, aged 52 and 53, suffered serious injuries and were taken to Lismore Base Hospital for treatment.
The driver and sole-occupant of the vehicle, a 52-year-old man, was trapped for a short time before being released and taken to Lismore Hospital for treatment and mandatory testing.
Police said officers from Richmond Police District set up a crime scene, which was examined by the Far North Coast Crash Investigations Unit.
Investigations into the crash were continuing Monday with a report to be prepared for the coroner.
Man with head injuries after Tyalgum crash
Earlier, another motorbike rider was airlifted to hospital in a critical condition after coming off his bike in Tyalgum on Saturday.
Emergency services were called to Limpinwood Road shortly before midday), following reports the bike had crashed into a tree.
The 59-year-old rider suffered critical injuries and was reportedly stabilised at the scene before being airlifted to Gold Coast University Hospital suffering critical head injuries.
His 57-year-old female pillion passenger suffered shoulder and ankle injuries and was taken to Tweed Heads Hospital for further treatment.
Tweed/Byron Police District police were investigating.
