LUCKNOW: People trying to disturb communal harmony by posting hurtful and discriminatory comments on social media will be booked under the National Security Act (NSA).
The state police has so far lodged 14 FIRs against people posting such messages. Special social media cell has also blocked 67 accounts and lodged FIRs depending on the posts.
According to a press release issued by the media cell of Uttar Pradesh police, 14 FIRs have been lodged in last 24 hours which included four in Lucknow, two each in Auraiya and Allahabad, and one each in Hardoi, Ambedkar Nagar, Pratapgarh, Deoria, Saharanpur and Hamirpur.

Action will be taken against people vitiating communal harmony and NSA could also be invoked against them, it added.
