UP: Etawah constable booked for kidnapping his sister-in-law

AGRA:An Etawah constable posted at civil line police station was booked for allegedly kidnapping his sister-in-law from neighbouring Etah district.
On Sunday late night, Etah Dehat Kotwali police station lodged an FIR against the 31-year-old constable under IPC section 364 (Kidnapping or abducting in order to murder) on a written complaint of victim's mother.
According to FIR copy, “Constable along with his parents abducted the victim in his hatchback from Nidhauli road close to Nagla Kewal village on Friday morning at around 9:30am, when the 22-year-old victim was heading college for her BTC (basic training certificate) examination along with her maternal cousin."
Speaking to TOI, victim’s mother said, “At 9:23 am, the accused constable had called my elder daughter (wife of accused) and informed her that he is heading Lucknow for official purpose and cannot visit Etah to take her back home.
But few minutes later, my nephew informed me that my son-in-law along with his parents abducted my younger daughter.”
For last six months, the wife of accused has been living at her maternal home after he left her due to some scuffle. Accused has been married for 11-years and has two children including nine year-old daughter and six-year-old son.
“My constable son-in-law had been threating to marry another woman, leaving my elder daughter alone. On Monday, I met SP Etawah and asked him to take strict action against the accused,” said, the 56-year-old mother of kidnapped woman who hails from Verma Nagar of Etah district.
