Gareth Delany smashed a career-best 89 from 49 balls in Abu Dhabi yesterday and followed up with 2-29 to claim the man-of-the-match award as Ireland thrashed bogey side Oman by 35 runs to get their T20 World Cup qualifying campaign back on track.

Promoted to number three when Andy Balbirnie had to drop out with food poisoning, Delany added 42 with Kevin O'Brien for the second wicket, 43 with Harry Tector for the third and a match-defining 64 with Mark Adair in the final five overs.
