The rumblings of the VAR decision from Burnley's defeat to Leicester City continue to rumble on but there has been more than that to discuss over the last 24 hours at Turf Moor.

The Clarets Under-23s were in action on Monday afternoon and maintained their unbeaten start to the season as Lewis Richardson struck twice to secure a come from behind 2-1 win over Barnsley.

There has been a bit of transfer speculation and of course, we can't move for talk of VAR!

We round up all the latest news in our handy daily digest.

Richardson's rise

Lewis Richardson celebrates

Lewis Richardson scored twice in the second half as Burnley Under-23s came from behind to claim a 2-1 win over Barnsley at Curzon Ashton.

The Clarets trailed at the break after a desperately poor half when Rob Harker prodded into his own goal from an inswinging free kick.

But Burnley, who maintained their unbeaten record with a fourth league win of the campaign to go with six draws, were vastly improved after the break.

Here's how the game unfolded

Gibson speculation

Ben Gibson

Burnley defender Ben Gibson has been linked with a move to Newcastle United.

TeamTalk report has suggested that Steve Bruce will look to sign the centre back on loan in January before completing a permanent move in the summer.

Gibson arrived at Turf Moor 18 months ago for a club record £15million but has struggled to break the Ben Mee and James Tarkowski partnership at the heart of the Clarets defence.

But a Turf exit still seems unlikey. Here's why.

VAR rumbles on

Chris Wood of Burnley talks to referee Jon Moss

Alan Shearer believes the inconsistencies in decisions involving Burnley and Manchester United show that the VAR system needs looking at.

Burnley saw a goal ruled out against Leicester City when Chris Wood was adjudged to have tripped Johnny Evans but Marcus Rashford's goal for Man United against Liverpool was allowed to stand despite what to many appeared a foul by Victor Lindelof's on Divock Origi in the build up.

And Shearer said the weekend, which also saw controversy in the Spurs v Watford game, believes enough is enough.
