A ring has been branded 'cyst-like' with critics jokingly suggesting popular medic Dr Pimple Popper should take a look at it after photographs of it was posted online.

The two pictures were shared to Facebook group That's It, I'm Ring Shaming on Sunday by an American user currently based in London.

It showed a silver ring - apparently worth $55,000 - from a jeweller in Bedford, featuring a diamond on top of its band and a large pearl underneath the shimmering jewel.

But despite the ring's dazzling display, social media users were baffled by the shape - branding it 'cyst-like' and 'pregnant-looking'.

Social media users were quick to mock the piece of jewellery, with one writing: 'Paging Dr Pimple Popper.'

American dermatologist Dr Sandra Lee, also known as Dr Pimple Popper, stars in her own TLC show in which she highlights the bumps, cysts, and lumps she removes from patients' skin.

Social media users were quick to mock the piece of jewellery, with one writing: 'Paging Dr Pimple Popper.'

The bumps featured on Dr Pimple Popper are typically very large and gruesome.

'Your ring has a pimple on it', one member said, while another wrote: 'Dr Pimple Popper would love to take care of that cyst.'

Several people also relentlessly mocked the ring for appearing 'to be expecting', as one individual asked: 'Is it pregnant?'

Another member of the group joked: 'It looks like the diamond is eight months pregnant'. 

The post was liked nearly 200 times and commented on by nearly 160 people, all equally unimpressed with the ring.
