What we know so far

A shop worker was threatened with a weapon during a terrifying armed robbery. The suspect, who wore dark clothing and had their face covered, entered the BP garage on Marine Road in Prestatyn at around 1.20am today. After making threats to the shop assistant, they made off from the scene with an undisclosed quantity of cash. Read more.

Appeal for witnesses

Officers are appealing to anyone who were in the vicinity of the store and saw a group of males acting suspiciously at the time, or who may have been driving past the location with a dashcam on board to contact police.

Shop assistant 'shocked' but not hurt

DC Jayne Marsden said: “The shop assistant has been left shocked by the incident but thankfully no-one was injured. Our enquiries are ongoing and officers are keen to hear from anyone who believes they have any information which may be relevant to the investigation.”

Robber threatened shop worker with weapon

A person wearing dark clothing with their face covered, entered the store and threatened the staff with a weapon before making off with cash. The amount of money stolen is not known.

Police say that there has been an armed robbery at the garage.
