Stress during pregnancy reduces the chances of having a boy, claims study!
According to a recent study published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America, moms who are stressed during pregnancy are less likely to have a boy and have a higher risk of preterm birth.
“The womb is an influential first home,” said the lead author of the study. Although the gender of the baby is dictated at the time of conception, women pregnant with boys are more vulnerable to mishaps.

According to this study, women who had higher blood pressure and other physical stress had four boys for every nine girls (4:9 ratio). While psychologically stressed moms had two boys for every three girls (2:3 ratio). Though all the women had a healthy pregnancy.
Pregnant women who were physically stressed were also more likely to have a premature delivery than those who had no stress or less stress.
Support of friends and family is important
Women who had someone to talk to and share their problems with had fewer chances of premature delivery, adds the study.
You will be surprised to know that the more social support a mother has, the risk of pre term delivery is lower. Social support means support from friends and family, which is important to build confidence in new moms.
Thus, ladies do not hesitate, open up and talk about what you feel and what is stressing you out. This will not only help you but also result in a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby.
