1: Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (2017)

SS Rajamouli's Baahubali 2: The Conclusion - the sequel to Baahubali: The Beginning (2015), smashed all box office records with its massive earnings in 2017, surpassing the Aamir Khan-starrer Dangal (2016). On its opening day, Baahubali 2 earned Rs 41 crore for just the Hindi version and Rs 80 crore in total, combining the collection of Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam. Baahubali 2 grossed Rs 1,810 crore at the box office in India. The film, which was made on the budget of Rs 250 crore, featured Prabhas, Rana Daggubatti, Anushka Shetty and Tamannaah Bhatia in key roles. Baahubali 2: The Conclusion broke all box office records becoming the highest-grossing Hindi film of all time.

2: Dangal (2016)

Aamir Khan-led Dangal, which was loosely based on the life of Geeta Phogat and Babita Kumari, Commonwealth gold-medalists from Haryana, was the second-highest non-holiday opener after Dhoom 3. Made on a budget of Rs 70 crore, Dangal grossed Rs 716 crore at the box office, which included Rs 511 crore in India and Rs 205 crore overseas. Dangal became the highest-grossing sports film worldwide. While Aamir played the role of Mahavir Singh Phogat - Geeta and Babita's father in Nitesh Tiwari's 2016 film, the female wrestlers's roles went to Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra. Zaira Wasim played the younger version of Fatima's character in Dangal.

3: Sanju (2018)

Made on a budget of Rs 100 crore, Sanju turned out to be the biggest grosser of 2018 at the time of its release. It earned a gross collection of Rs 586.85 crore worldwide. Based on the life of actor Sanjay Dutt, Raj Kumar Hirani's 2018 film Sanju had a phenomenal non-holiday opening at the box office. In fact, it was Ranbir Kapoor's highest opener till date. With Sanju, Ranbir once again proved his versatility as an actor. Vicky Kaushal and Ranbir Kapoor's bromance was worth watching in the film. Sanju also starred Sonam Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Paresh Rawal.

4: PK (2014)

The title might be a short one but it had a big impact at the box office. PK, another Raj Kumar Hirani film, created history by becoming the first Bollywood film to enter the Rs 300-crore club in 2014. In spite of inviting the wrath various religious groups for its plot, the final worldwide gross of Aamir Khan's PK was Rs 854 crore. Apart from Aamir, the film starred Anushka Sharma, Sushant Singh Rajput,Boman Irani, Sanjay Dutt and Saurabh Shukla. Ranbir Kapoor also had a cameo in the climax of PK.

5: Tiger Zinda Hai (2017)

Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif's Tiger Zinda Hai (2017) was a sequel to Ek Tha Tiger (2012). Despite a gap of five years, the craze for Salman didn't seem to fade. As of February 2018, Tiger Zinda Hai grossed Rs 434.82 crore at the box office in India and Rs 128.9 crore in international markets, bringing in Rs 569 crore worldwide. Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, Tiger Zinda Hai was made on a budget of Rs 210 crore. Its songs Swag Se Swagat and Dil Diyan Gallan were huge hits, too.

6: Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015)

Remember Harshali Malhotra as Munni in Bajrani Bhaijaan? The 2015 film started a dialogue about India-Pakistan relationships, and Harshali's character acted as a bridge. Made on a budget of Rs 90 crore, Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan's film had an overwhelming response at the box office. Bajrangi Bhaijaan earned a total box office collection of Rs 444.92 crore at the domestic markets and Rs 969 crore worldwide. It also broke the first-week box office record of PK and Happy New Year at the time. Bajrangi Bhaijaan was released a day before Eid, and clearly Salman's lucky charm worked for him, making it a commercial success.

7: Padmaavat (2018)

Padmaavat, starring Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor battled a lot of controversies due to its historic theme. The period drama revolved around the lives of Alauddin Khilji, Rani Padmavati and Maharawal Ratan Singh. Khilji's regressive portrayal as an evil Muslim king trying to claim Padmavati and Ratan Singh's kingdom was one of the reasons why the film faced the wrath of Karni Sena, a fringe outfit, that ultimately wanted to ban the film altogether. Shahid's stereotypical character Ratan Singh, a Rajput king, was also not appreciated by critics. One of the most expensive films made in Hindi cinema, it was hard to predict Padmaavat's box office collection because of the numerous controversies that tailed it and by virtue of being banned in a few states. According to Box Office India, Sanjay Leela Bhansali's directorial venture grossed Rs 400 crore at the worldwide box office, making its place in the list of highest-grossing films of all time.

8: Sultan (2016)

Salman Khan and Anushka Sharma's 2016 film Sultan was also a huge hit at the box office. It was Salman's Eid release, after all. It became one of the top five highest-grossing films of all time in Hindi cinema at the time. As of September 9, 2018, Sultan grossed Rs 603.33 crore at the box office worldwide, after it's release in China as well. In India, Sultan grossed Rs 421.25 crore in total. Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, Sultan was a cocktail of sportsmanship, patriotism, romance and more. Songs like Jag Ghumiya, 440 Volt, Khoon Mein Tere Mitti including the Haryanvi accents of Salman and Anushka were the highlights of the film.

9: Dhoom 3 (2013)

Yash Raj Films production Dhoom 3, the third film of the Dhoom franchise is currently on the ninth spot in the list of highest-grossing Indian films of all time. While Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra reprised their roles as Jay and Ali, the makers cast Aamir Khan as the antagonist in Dhoom 3. And Aamir's double role was a cherry-on-the-cake, which was not seen in the previous offerings of the franchise. Made on a budget of Rs 125 crore, Dhoom 3 earned Rs 372 crore in India at the box office and Rs 589.2 crore in international markets. Apart from Aamir's characters Sahir and Samar, Katrina Kaif's moves in the song Kamli Kamli also hogged the limelight in Dhoom 3.

10: War (2019)

War is at the tenth position in the list of the highest-grossing films of 2019 and has surpassed the lifetime business of Shahid Kapoor's Kabir Singh in just two weeks of its release. While War earned Rs 268.3 crore on Day 15, Shahid's film crossed Rs 225 crore in Week 3. Earlier, it left Vicky Kaushal's Uri: The Surgical Strike behind in the list. So far, War has earned a total collection of Rs 291 crore nett at the box office till Friday--Rs 2.8 crore in Hindi and Rs 0.25 crore in Tamil and Telugu collectively. The film made Rs 238.35 crore in Week 1 (nine days) and raked Rs 49.65 crore in Week 2 till Thursday. For the Hindi version, it collected Rs 275.15 crore and if we include Tamil and Telugu, War earned Rs 12.85 crore. The film is expected to surpass the lifetime business of Salman Khan and Anushka Sharma's Sultan over the weekend, which hit the screens in 2016.
