UP By Election Results 2019 Updates: The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday won seven of the 11 assembly seats where polling was held on October 21. The seven seats that the saffron party won are — Gangoh (Kirat Singh), Iglas (Rajkumar Sahyogi), Lucknow Cantt (Suresh Chandra Tiwari), Govindnagar (Surendra Maithani), Manikpur (Aanand Shukla), Balha (Saroj Sonkar) and Ghosi (Vijay Kumar Rajbhar). The Apna Dal (Soneylal) of Anupriya Patel won the Pratapgarh (Rajkumar Pal)Assembly seat. The Samajwadi Party won the remaining three seats including the stronghold Rampur. The two seats that went to its kitty are Zaidpur (Gaurav Kumar) and Jalalpur (Subhash Rai). In Rampur, the stronghold of Samajwadi Party, Azam Khan’s wife Tazneen Fatima defeated BJP’s Bharat Bhushan by a margin of 7,716 votes.

According to the ECI, a total of 109 candidates were in the fray for the bypolls. The maximum candidates — 13 each contested from Lucknow Cantonment and Jalalpur. Eleven each contested from in Ghosi, Gangoh, Pratapgarh and Balha. Nine candidates each contested from Govindnagar and Manikpur. Seven each contested from the Rampur, Iglas and Zaidpur assembly segments.

Samajwadi Party’s Subhash Rai wins from Uttar Pradesh’s Jalalpur seat on Thursday. He defeated Chhaya Verma of Bahujan Samaj Party by the margin of 790 votes.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that on 8 out of the 11 seats, BJP and its allies have registered victory. “I congratulate all the candidates who have won today. PM Modi’s ‘mantra’ of ‘Sabka saath sabka vikas’ has become the ‘mantra’ of the politics in India,” he said.
Aanand Shukla of BJP has defeated Samajwadi party candidate Nirbhay Singh Patel from Manikpur Assembly seat by a margin of 12,840 votes.
Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Rajkumar Sahyogi on Thursday defeated Abhay Kumar of the BSP by a margin of 25,937 votes in Iglas in Aligarh.
Samajwadi Party leader Tazeen Fatma defeats BJP nominee Bharat Bhushan in Rampur by a margin of 7,716 votes.
In Govindnagar, BJP candidate Surendra Maithani defeated Karishma Thakur of Congress by a margin of 21,224 votes.
Rajkumar Pal of Apna Dal (Sonelal) has defeated Samajwadi Party candidate Brijesh Verma by over 29,000 votes. Apna Dal (S) is an ally of the BJP in the state.
In Gangoh seat, BJP candidate Kirat Singh defeated Nooman Masood of Congress by a margin of 5,419 votes.
In Zaidpur, Gaurav Kumar of Samajwadi Party defeated BJP candidate Ambrish by a margin of 4,165 votes.
In Lucknow Cantt, BJP’s Suresh Chandra Tiwari defeated Major Ashish Chaturvedi of the Samajwadi Party by a margin of 35,428 votes.
According to the Election Commission of India data, the BJP and Samajwadi Party have won one seat each.
Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi has accused the BJP of creating pressure on election commission officials to change the mandate in Gangoh.
In Rampur Assembly seat, after 31 rounds of counting, Samajwadi Party candidate Tazneen Fatima has secured 60,752 votes against her nearest BJP rival Bharat Bhushan Gupta who has got 44,897 votes.
After 19th round of counting, Apla Dal candidate is leading with 39,250 votes. The Congress candidate has secured 16,919 votes while the AIMIM nominee has got 13,697 votes so far.
Drama at counting centre in Lucknow Cantonment as Smajwadi Party candidate Ashish Chaturvedi alleges EVM manipulation by the BJP and storms off. At the moment BJP candidate Suresh Tiwari leading with a comfortable margin.
BJP candidate Raj Kumar Sahyogi is leading by over 24,000 votes in Iglas. The Bahujan Samaj Party candidate has secured 15, 575 votes, Congress’ 2,642 and RLD’s 1,068 votes.
The Samajwadi Party continues to lead in Uttar Pradesh’s Zaidpur constituency after 14th round of counting. SP’s Gaurav Rawat has secured 50, 621 votes while BJP’s Ambrish Rawat has bagged 42, 934 votes.
SP leader Azam Khan and his family have seemingly been successful in winning political battle in Rampur as Samajwadi Party candidate and his wife Tazneen Fatima is leading by a margin of over 13,000 votes.
Suresh Chandra Tiwari, the brahmin face of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) contesting from the Lucknow Cantonment seat is leading with 24867 votes.
BJP’s Lucknoe Cantt candidate Suresh Tiwari has taken a comfortable lead. In total, the BJP is ahead on the 7 of the 11 seats.
After 10th round of counting in Bahraich, BJP candidate Saroj Sonkar is leading by 19,437 votes. Saroj has got 34025 votes, while Kiran Bharti of Samajwadi Party has secured 14,588 votes. Ramesh Gautam of BSP has got 8106 votes.
As per the latest trends available with the Election Commission, the ruling BJP in Uttar Pradesh is ahead on seven seats while the Samajwadi Party on two seats. The Congress and BSP are ahead on on one seat each.
As per official trends from Election Commission of India, the BJP is ahead on five of the 11 seats where polling was held on Monday. The BSP and SP are ahead on two seats each. The Congress is leading in one seat.
BJP candidate Suresh Chandra Tiwari is leading over his nearest Samajwadi Party rival Major Ashish Chaturvedi. The Congress has given ticket to Dilpreet Singh Virk. The BSP has given ticket to Arun Dwivedi.
The Samajwadi Party (SP) in Barabanki has taken a lead in Zaidpur constituency with over 5,500 votes. The ruling BJP’s ally Apna Dal is leading in Pratapgarh with over 3800 votes.
Noman Masood of Congress has maintained a lead with over 4,500 votes in Gangoh, Saharanpur constituency. The seat fell vacant after the sitting BJP MLA Pradeep Chaudhary was elected to Lok Sabha from Kairana in the general elections held in April-May this year.
Tazeen Fatima, Samajwadi Party candidate from Rampur assembly constituency is leading with 6364 votes after second round of counting.
Initial trends show that the Samajwadi Party (SP) is leading on Rampur and Zaidpur seat while the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) is leading on the Gangoh seat. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its allies have maintained lead on rest of the eight seats.
As per the initial trends, the Samajwadi Party is leading on Gangoh and Rampur seats. In Rampur, SP leader Mohammad Azam Khan’s wife Tanzeem Fatima is contesting against BJP’s Bharat Bhusan.
In Pratapgarh, Apna Dal contestant Rajkumar Pal has now taken lead. Pal is ahead with 103 votes. As per initial trends Congress was leading on the Pratapgarh seat with a few hundred votes.
The Samajwadi Party has taken early leads. The party is ahead on two seats, according to latest trends by the Election Commission.
The ruling BJP is looking to increase its tally in the Legislative Assembly by winning maximum seats. It is specifically eyeing a win in Rampur and Jalalpur, previously held by the Samajwadi Party and the BSP, respectively. The opposition parties are expecting to taste victory after the Lok Sabha debacle this year.
The counting process has begun in Uttar Pradesh at different locations amid tight security. As per the ECI rule, the postal ballots will be counted first and then the EVMs.

According to the office of UP’s Chief Electoral Officer, 109 candidates are in the fray. The maximum candidates — 13 each contested from Lucknow Cantonment and Jalalpur. Eleven each contested from in Ghosi, Gangoh, Pratapgarh and Balha. Nine candidates each contested from Govindnagar and Manikpur. Seven each contested from the Rampur, Iglas and Zaidpur assembly segments.
In the assembly, the BJP currently has 302 members, followed by the SP (47) and the BSP (18). BJP ally Apna Dal (Sonelal) has eight legislators, while the Congress has seven MLAs in the House.
Bypolls were held to 11 Assembly seats of Gangoh, Rampur, Iglas (SC), Lucknow Cantonment, Govindnagar, Manikpur, Pratapgarh, Zaidpur (SC), Jalalpur, Balha (SC) and Ghosi.
The polling was held on Monday. According to Election Commission data, 47.05 per cent voters had exercised their franchise in the bypolls, mostly necessitated after sitting legislators got elected to the Lok Sabha in May.
