NEW DELHI: Traffic police has come up with an elaborate plan for the four-day ‘Dilli ki Diwali’ event at Connaught Place as a huge crowd is expected. Vehicular access to the inner circle has been virtually closed due to the movement of VIP vehicles and the entry and exit roads to the outer radius will have restricted movement.
Police officers said that the inner circle will be shut between 4pm and 11pm from October 26.
Cops will allow cars of visitors going for the show to be parked in the inner circle. They will be allowed to enter through the C-block and F-block roads and park in the Palika parking area.
Parking will also be allowed at D-block for vehicles entering from Haldiram side. Apart from this, police will allow parking at the multilevel parking facility at Baba Kharak Singh Marg. Police officers said that the exit towards Panchkuian Road from the inner circle would be restricted as well.
Since parking at A and B blocks is out of bounds, two new parking spaces have been opened up at Shivaji Stadium and near the Connaught Place police station on BKS Marg.
The cops will deploy additional personnel to clear congestion on the outer circle, which would be caused due to the increased volume of traffic.
