Narendra Modi and Russian President
Vladimir Putin will be attending a
Jallikattu event in Tamil Nadu's
Madurai in January, 2020. Jallikattu is a traditional bull-taming event conducted in different parts of Tamil Nadu as part of Pongal celebrations.

A tweet from the official handle of
Press Information Bureau (PIB) Gujarat debunked this false claim saying, "The tweets that PM
Narendra Modi and President Putin would attend Jallikattu at Madurai are fake and wrong. Please don't share fake news."
Times Fact Check also reached out to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) to verify the claim. The PMO denied there was any such plan and said that all stories saying PM Modi and Russian President Putin will witness Jallikattu are incorrect.
