Man ends life with wife, two kids in Varanasi

VARANASI: A 32-year-old man, identified as Kishan Gupta, and his pregnant wife Nilam (28) committed suicide after poisoning their two kids in Hukulganj locality under Cantonment police station area.
The incident came to light on Wednesday morning when their family members noticed their bodies inside the room. Police sent all four bodies for postmortem. In his suicide note, Kishan mentioned that he was upset with his eye disease and poor financial condition.
When Kishan, who earned livelihood by selling momos, did not open his room till late on Wednesday morning, his family members and neighbours looked inside the room from a window and found the couple hanging with from the ceiling while bodies of the kids were lying on bed.
They reported the matter to police. Later, inspector Cantt area, Ashwini Chaturvedi, broke into the room. During initial investigation, a suicide note was recovered while it also came to light that Nilam was pregnant.
