PATNA: An FIR has been lodged with the Kishanganj police station on Wednesday against All India Forward Bloc MLA Ali Imran Ramz for rioting, extortion, assault and other charges. This has been done following a complaint lodged by one Tapan Kumar Das against the MLA and his supporters for allegedly trying to forcibly capture a plot of land owned by the former on Tuesday.

Besides Ramz, FIR has been lodged against 500 of his unnamed supporters on basis of Das's written complaint submitted on Wednesday.
Das, in his FIR, has alleged that Ramz, who represents the Chakulia assembly constituency in West Bengal, had threatened him to either hand over the plot or pay Rs 10 lakh. Das, who is physically challenged, owns a pharmacy at Shubhash Palli Chowk where Tuesday's incident reportedly took place. The MLA's constituency in North Dinazpur district of West Bengal is barely 5 km away from the Shubhash Palli Chowk in Kishanganj town.
The FIR states that Ramz had attempted to set up a party office on the plot after which prohibitory orders were promulgated by Kishanganj SDO Shahnawaz Ahmed Niyazee. The SDO said prohibitory orders were promulgated on Wednesday evening as Ramz illegally erected a structure stating that it was his party office in the area.
"The prohibitory order was limited to only four katthas of land of which Ramz owns three katthas , while Das owns the remaining one. The MLA has been trying to take over the one kattha plot owned by Das," he said.
Niyazee said both parties came at his office and produced documents on Thursday and the matter was being investigated. Kishanganj police station SHO Rajesh Kumar Tiwary said while Das's plot is located by the roadside, Ramz's three-cottah plot is located behind the plot owned by Das. "On Tuesday, Ramz came to Shubash Palli Chowk and forcibly tried to take over Das's plot which has a boundary and gate," he said. The SHO said police personnel had been deployed on the disputed plot to ensure that there is no law and order problem.
As per Das's complaint, Ramz and his supporters also beat up his staff Ranjeet Kumar Das who was at the pharmacy located opposite to disputed plot. They also reportedly resorted to brick batting, the FIR said.
