GAYA: Plying of private boats and other indigenous floating tools have been banned in Gaya rivers and other water bodies of the district including ponds. The ban came into effect on October 31 and will remain in force till November 3.
The ban order has been passed by district magistrate Abhishek Singh. All the circle officers and SHOs have been directed to ensure strict and effective compliance of the ban order.
On account of heavy rain in recent days, water level in almost all the water bodies where Chhath rituals are performed is very high. Devotees tend to use boats and other indigenous modes of water navigation during the festival.
