West Bengal’s Forward Bloc MLA booked for extortion and serious rioting in Kishanganj

All India Forward Bloc MLA Ali Imran Ramz from West Bengal’s Chakulia assembly seat had been booked on charges of serious rioting, extortion, thrashing and several other allegations with Kishanganj police station area in Kishanganj district on Wednesday after he along with huge count supporters allegedly attempted to forcibly capture a plot owned by one Tapan Kumar Das on Tuesday.

PATNA: All India Forward Bloc MLA Ali Imran Ramz from West Bengal’s Chakulia assembly seat had been booked on charges of serious rioting, extortion, thrashing and several other allegations with Kishanganj police station area in Kishanganj district on Wednesday after he along with huge count supporters allegedly attempted to forcibly capture a plot owned by one Tapan Kumar Das on Tuesday.
Besides Ramz, his 500 unknown supporters had also been booked on the same charged in FIR which was lodged on basis of Das’s written complaint submitted on Wednesday.

Das, in his FIR, had alleged that either Ramz had threatened him to hands over the plot or pay Rs 10 lakh. Das can't walk and owns a medical shop at Shubhash Palli chowk where the incident took place.
The MLA’s constituency in North Dinazpur district of West Bengal is hardly five kilometres away from the chowk in Kishanganj town.
Ramz simultaneously also attempted to establish a party office on the plot after which prohibitory orders were promulgated by Kishanganj sub-divisional officer (SDO) Shahnawaz Ahmed Niyazee.
When asked, SDO while talking to TOI over phone on Thursday said prohibitory orders were promulgated on Wednesday evening as Ramz erected a structure stating that it was his party office in the area which was not according to law.

“The prohibitory orders were limited to only four kattha of land in which Ramz owns three kattha while rest is owned by Das. However, the MLA makes his claims also over Das’s share,” he said.
Niyazee said that both parties had reached at his office with documents on Thursday and investigation was going on the matter.
Kishanganj police station SHO Rajesh Kumar Tiwary, told TOI over phone that Das’s one kattha plot was adjacent to road and Ramz’s plot three kattha plot is just behind it.
“On Tuesday, Ramz reached at chowk and forcibly entered inside Das’s plot which had a boundary and gate. According to Das’s complaint, Ramz and his supporters also thrashed his staff Ranjeet Kumar Das who was at medical shop located just opposite to plot and pelted stone,” he said.
SHO said force had been deployed on the disputed plot till further orders as serious law and problem had arose due to Tuesday’s incident.
Tiwary said further action would be taken after supervision of case by senior police officers. He said that Ramz is a resident of Khagra locality under Kishanganj police station area only.
