MUMBAI: The IMD Santacruz observatory recorded rainfall of 35.9mm and IMD Colaba recorded 10.2mm.
K S Hosalikar, the deputy directorgeneral of the western region, IMD said, “Satellite and radar images showed a cloud patch over North Konkan, including Navi Mumbai, Mumbai, and Thane.”

The rain brought down maximum temperatures in the city, which had touched 36 degrees celsius earlier this week.
On Friday, the maximum at Colaba was 33.6 degrees celsius, and 34.8 degrees celsius at Santacruz. Humidity recorded at Colaba and Santacruz was 94% and 80% respectively.
This year has been historic, as for the first time two cyclones have formed in the Arabian Sea at the same time, while there have been four cyclones in total this monsoon. Cyclone Vayu formed during the onset of the monsoon, then Hikka during the withdrawal, and now Kyarr and Maha.
