AGRA: A 30-year-old UP police constable posted at phase-II Noida police station was arrested by Kasganj district police on Friday. Police officials said the accused cop was posted in Kasganj between 2016 and 2017 and "married" a dalit woman after a period of courtship.
"The accused posed himself to be sub-inspector rank officer to lure the rape survivor. The accused was already married and neither of the two women were aware of his illicit act," said Indra Prakash Singh, circle officer Kasganj city.
Three months back the dalit rape survivor lodged an FIR against the constable under IPC section 419 (Punishment for cheating by personation), 420 (Cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property), 376 (rape) and ST/SC act.

Officer Singh further claimed, that "After getting transferred in Noida he was engaged with another (third) woman and was about to get married. A detail probe revealed, that all allegations against the constable were true and alerted Noida police about him to take action, but we went absconding. The SP Noida had suspended the accused constable as well."
Based on the woman’s complaint, the district court of Kasganj also issued non-bailable warrant against the accused constable, who originally hails from Aligarh district.
On Friday evening, the accused constable was arrested from Soron Gate area of Kasganj district. Police are also probing his mother's involvement in the case.
