Athlete molested, trainer arrested in Howrah

HOWRAH: A physical trainer at Dumurjala stadium was arrested by Howrah City Police on Sunday after he allegedly molested an 11-year-old athlete who had come there to practice.
According to police, the girl had come to the stadium on Sunday morning to practice. She was leaving the stadium in the afternoon with her father when she suddenly realized that she had forgotten to pack her shoes.She went back inside the stadium to bring them.
As she went in, she met the accused - Sujit Pal (42) - who engaged her in a conversation. After sometime, he molested her. The girl immediately raised an alarm.
Other staffers at the stadium rushed out and nabbed the accused. "We have started a case under POCSO Act based on a complaint and the man has been arrested," said Swati Bhangalia, DC (south) Howrah Police.
