SECUNDERABAD: Emphasising on the need to preserve a balanced spiritual living in today’s busy lifestyle, Swami Chidananda Giri, spiritual head and president of Yogoda Satsanga Society of India, spoke about the value of Kriya Yoga.
Addressing a gathering of over 2,500 people at Classic Gardens in Secunderabad on Sunday, Swami Chidananda Giri said, “An essential survival skill in today’s world, especially for people with spiritual ideals, is knowing how to protect themselves from the toxic environment of materialistic culture.”
He said yoga is not just a set of physical exercises, but one of the most powerful tools to battle complexities of modern life.
“We should take time to understand the means to free ourselves from diseases caused by unnatural living, so we can achieve physical, mental and spiritual well-being,” he said.
“I have been following Swami for five years and I have been able to maintain mental peace in difficult situations through simple breathing exercises of Kriya Yoga,” said Sadhana Sarathi, a resident of Kukatpally, who attended the event.
