17-year-old girl found dead on rail tracks in Auraiya district

KANPUR: A 17-year-old girl, student of class XII at Shyama Inter College, was found dead under suspicious circumstances on the Delhi-Howrah rail track in the Dibiyapur area of Auraiya district on Monday.
Police said that the girl, identified as Puja Yadav, daughter of Mohan Yadav, a resident of Ranapur in Dibiyapur town, had gone to attend her coaching classes,
The local sources told the police that the girl wasrun over by a train.
“We have received information from locals about a dead body lying on rail tracks. We rushed to the spot and identified the victim on the basis of ID card and the Aadhar card recovered from her school bag lying close to the body,” said inspector GRP, Auraiya, Avadhesh Pathak.
The body has been shifted to mortuary and investigations are underway to ascertain the actual cause of her death, the inspector added.
The incident came close on the heels of November 1 incident where a girl, a student of high school at Saraswati Vidhya Mandir, was found dead on the rail tracks in the same area under mysterious circumstances.
She had also left her home to attend coaching classes near Sahayal Road when the incident occurred.
