UP: Dy SPs among 7 policemen forced to retire for ‘tainted service records’

These seven officers are in the ranks of deputy SP and assistant commandant posted in various units of police and PAC. As per the government criterion, these officials are above the age of 50.

“Following orders of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the state government has given compulsory retirement to seven police officials on recommendations of a screening committee set up for the purpose,” Additional Chief Secretary, Home, Awanish Awasthi said.

The officers are Arun Kumar, posted as Assistant Commandant at 15th batallion PAC Agra; Vinod Kumar Rana, Deputy SP in Ayodhya; Narendra Singh Rana, Deputy SP in Agra; Ratan Kumar Yadav, Assistant Commandant, PAC Jhansi, 33rd Batallion; Tejveer Singh Yadav, Assistant Commandant, 27th batallion PAC, Sitapur district; Santosh Kumar Singh, Zonal officer, Moradabad; Tanveer Ahmed Khan, Assistant Commandant at 30th batallion PAC, Gonda district.

They had faced punishments in last over 10 years of their service and slapped with penalties, including heavy pay cuts.

According to a statement issued by the Adityanath government, more than 200 such government officials found with bad service records from different departments have been given compulsory retirement following recommendations of screening committees in the last two years. It has also punished more than 400 officials by suspending or demoting them on charges of serious irregularities so far.

The officials who have faced action so far include 169 officials from the power department, 51 from the home department, 37 from the transport department, 36 from the revenue department, 26 from the basic education department, 25 from the panchayati raj department, 18 from the PWD department, 16 from the dabour department, 16 from the institutional finance department, 16 form the commercial tax department, 16 from the entertainment tax department, 15 from the rural development and 11 officers from the forest department.
