Pollution levels have been increasing in the city since October-end and reached an all-time high on November 4 with AQI of 435.

“This increasing trend will continue, turning the air worse by Sunday as the climatic conditions are favourable for a spike in concentration of pollutants. Low temperatures, wind velocity and high humidity will deteriorate the air quality,” said Prof Dhruvsen Singh, director of the weather and pollution monitoring cell at Lucknow University.
According to live air monitoring conducted by the Central Pollution Control Board, the values in all four localities of Lucknow—Gomtinagar, Lalbagh, Talkatora and Aliganj—were recorded above 300 in the morning and evening hours.
