Three of a Bengaluru family was killed and another member was seriously injured and hospitalized, in a road accident on National Highway 766 near Mysuru on Friday.

MYSURU: Three of a Bengaluru family were killed and another member was seriously injured and hospitalized in a road accident on National Highway 766 near Mysuru on Friday.
Pratheeksha, a teenager, who lost her parents and elder brother, is battling for life at a private hospital. Her condition is said to be critical. Her father Mohan (50), mother Uma (21) and brother Prajwal (22) died on the spot.
Prajwal was at the wheel when a private bus rammed their four-wheeler near Varkod around 13km away from Mysuru city.

The family that lived in Nagawara in Bengaluru was on their way to Ooty in the car when the tragedy happened around 12.30pm. They left Bengaluru early in the morning and reached Duddagere village in Mysuru to attend a housewarming ceremony of Shivaprakash, Mohan’s friend, but minutes after they left, the accident took place, according to Mysuru south police.
An officer said that the girl who was at the rear seat along with the mother sustained serious injuries. The bus driver of the private bus attached to Mahadeshwara travels had fled the scene soon after the tragedy.
Similarly, four passengers of a car were killed on the spot when a private bus rammed into their vehicle a year-and-half back close to the same spot on NH 766.
