Patna: Teacher crushed to death as truck turns turtle after concrete road caves in
A private school teacher was crushed to death as a stationary truck turned turtle after newly constructed concrete road caved in at Patna.
PATNA: A private school teacher named Shyamal Anand (22) was crushed to death and few others were injured after a heavy loading capacity stationary truck turned turtle after newly constructed concrete road caved in at Bramhapur under Phulwarisharif police station area in western Patna on Saturday.
Phulwarisharif police station SHO Rafiq-ur-Rahman said that the deceased youth along with other persons were travelling in an autorickshaw.

"While it was passing beside the truck, road below its right hand side’s rear wheel caved in due to which the truck toppled over the three-wheeler killing Anand at spot.
"A private firm was involved in laying pipeline below the road due to which it was dug but reconstruction work of the road was of very poor quality due to which earlier also at least three road accidents had took place but none was killed. However Saturday’s incident became fatal," SHO said.
He said that neither the truck was overloaded nor there was any fault of drivers of both the vehicles. He said that several locals had together submitted a written complaint against the private construction firm and an FIR would be lodged against it after seeking permission from senior authorities.
SHO Rahman also said that a road accident case was under process of getting lodges with traffic police. He said that the deceased youth was a native of Begusarai district and was living at a rented accommodation at Balmichak. SHO Rahman also said that locals had blocked the Anisabad-Phulwarisharif main road to protest against the incident for few hours which was later removed by police.
