BEGUSARAI: The district administration invoked prohibitory orders under Section 144 of CrPC in the wake of the Supreme Court verdict on Ayodhya Ram Janmabhoomi case. Orders were also issued to keep all schools closed till Monday.
A letter issued by Begusarai DM Arvind Kumar Verma on Saturday forenoon stated that bursting of crackers, victory procession and display of firearms have been banned to prevent any disturbance.

Also, Begusarai district education officer (DEO) Devendra Kumar Jha issued an order that all private and government schools in the district up to Class XII will remain closed till Monday as a precautionary measure. The DEO stated that the order has been issued in light of the verbal direction by Begusarai DM. However, the order for closure of schools came late in the morning and most of them functioned as per schedule.
Local administration was alert with police forces maintaining tight vigil at all important points of the town. Life seemed normal with no untoward incident reported from anywhere in the district. Markets and other establishments remained open with normal business.
