Suicide bid on second Hooghly bridge

KOLKATA: A 32-year-old resident of NS Road in the Parnashree area tried to commit suicide on Second Hooghly bridge around 10.35pm on Saturday.
Hastings police received a call on Dial 100 by an anonymous caller and immediately informed the matter to the traffic officer, who was on duty at the spot at that time. The person was later rescued and was taken to Hastings police station.Police said it was not yet clear how the person had tried to commit suicide.
