RANCHI: BJP’s alliance with Ajsu Party in
Jharkhand hit the rocks on Monday as the tribal party named contestants for 11 assembly seats, pitting three leaders directly against candidates of the saffron party, including its state president Laxman Gilua. The three seats that both parties will contest are Chakradharpur, Sindri and Simaria.
Lok Janashakti Party, another BJP ally at the Centre, also said it will go it alone in the state polls.
Party’s national working president
Chirag Paswan on Monday said they are planning to contest 37 seats in Jharkhand. Ajsu Party office bearers, however, refrained from commenting on the status of the alliance, maintaining that party president
Sudesh Mahto will make an official announcement about it on Tuesday. Ajsu Party managed to get its first ever seat in
Lok Sabha after the two parties contested the general elections together.
