A farm in the hills above Ramsbottom which doubles as rural hideaway featured in a BBC One documentary this evening (November 11).

Staycation playground Cronkshaw Fold Farm comes complete with treehouse accommodation, goat yoga and puppy encounters, reports the MEN.

Dot McCarthy, 30, took over the sheep and goat farm from her mum two years ago and has since opened it up to guests.

Accommodation - all build by hand from scratch - includes a shepherd's hut, a treehouse and a woodland yurt.

The Lancashire farm has become a hotspot for taking in some unusual farm animal encounters - including practising a yoga sequence with a goat on your back.

Guests at the rural hideaway will count chickens and sheep as their neighbours - with prices starting from £50 a night for two guests.

The BBC One documentary - which aired at 7.30pm tonight - follows Dot over a busy summer as she tries to balance the everyday running of a farm with her entrepreneurial holiday business.

Over the course of a few months camera crews followed the farm as it hosted a wedding, added in a hot tub and launched goat yoga.

The goat yoga was launched after Dot saw a video online of a Game Of Thrones actress taking part in a yoga practice surrounded by the animals and decided to put her own herd to work.

During tonight's documentary you can see visitors to the farm trying to practice shavasana, downward facing dog and other yoga poses while goats clamber on their backs and sniff bare feet.

However there is a more serious side to the film too as it dives into the effects of climate change on the farm and Dot's efforts to save for a wind turbine.

It was commissioned as part of the regional series The Great Staycation - voiced by Coronation Street actress Sally Lindsay and directed by Helen Tither for Manchester-based Saffron Cherry Productions.

The Great Staycation: Dot's Farm will air nationally on BBC One tonight (Monday November 11) at 7.30pm.
