Special guest and keynote speaker Danielle Laporte flew in from Vancouver for the opening ceremony on November 8. Laporte, who is one of Oprah Winfrey’s super soul 100 leaders, gave a raw, real and vulnerable talk and encouraged audience members to get inspired, empowered and elevated with her words on the intelligence of love.

“For those of us in pain, from the deeply personal, to the planetary sorrow. For those of us who have Joy to offer because we are removing obstacles to it, we know that joy is our original state.

“Your heart is your true power center, it’s the heart vibration that cues the brain, not the other way around. Your heart can tell the difference between truth and illusion; If you tune into it, the heart will constantly signal you to choose life-affirming feelings––qualities of the heart––generosity, joy, faith, freedom, Love. And when there’s so much of the opposite swirling around, choosing life-affirming feelings is an act of higher consciousness,” said Laporte.

Other features of the festival included fitness and Yoga classes, experiential activities including desire mapping, skin care, vegan chocolate making and think outside the box sessions.

Festival Chair and Organizer Cheryl Cooper said the second annual festival was a huge success and that the feedback was very positive.

“What a fantastic opening night! Danielle absolutely blew us away with her insights and kindness,” said Cooper.

“Thrive is an opportunity to connect and build community, and to dig deeper into our lives to understand what this journey we call life is all about. I see Canmore as the Sedona of the north, we have an incredible energetic force here with vortexes, people come here for healing and transformation. I would like to thank our team of volunteers for their work to held reach our second year of Thrive.”
