Lucknow: Speeding truck hits bike, kills 22-year-old

LUCKNOW: Reckless driving by a truck driver claimed the life of a 22-year-old man in Chinhat on Monday.
Station house officer, Chinhat, Sachin Singh said Vivek of Kanpur Dehat was going on a two-wheeler with his friend Surya (23), who was riding pillion, when their vehicle was hit by a speeding truck in Kapda Koti area in Chinhat around 4.45pm.
Passersby managed to stop the truck and handed over the driver to the police.
The SHO said Vivek was in the city in search of a job and was staying in a locality on Dewa Road with his friend Surya.
"Vivek's identity was ascertained on the basis of his Aadhaar card which was recovered by the police. Vivek's family has been informed about the incident," he said.
The duo were rushed to RML Hospital where Vivek was declared brought dead while Surya is undergoing treatment.
