Minor domestic help's body recovered from Gujranwala house

GUJRANWALA: The body of a minor domestic help was recovered from a house here in the city's Alipur Chatha on Monday, police confirmed.

According to Gujranwala police, the family who had employed 13-year-old Mariyam at their residence in Dera Din Muhammad locality claimed the minor domestic help picked up a pistol while cleaning the house and that it accidentally went off.

Police said they had shifted the body to a local hospital for post-mortem. The deceased minor was a resident of Sheikhupura, they added, and had started working as the domestic help at the residence of a man named Mustansar.

Police further noted that they were investigating whether the death was an accident or a murder.
