Railways introduces special MEMU train between Bengaluru, Bangarpet

South Western Railway on Monday introduced a special Main Line Electrical Multiple Unit (MEMU) between KSR Bengaluru – Bangarpet – KSR Bengaluru from November 11.

BENGALURU: South Western Railway on Monday introduced a special Main Line Electrical Multiple Unit (MEMU) between KSR Bengaluru – Bangarpet – KSR Bengaluru from November 11.
"This will help early morning commuters between KSR Bengaluru City and Bangarpet. We have started three new train services in Bengaluru in this month alone. There is a lot of demand for this timing as many passangers coming early morning from long distance trains does not have any other transport at that time," said Ashok Kumar Verma, divisional railway manager, Bengaluru division.
Train No.06545 KSR Bengaluru – Bangarpet MEMU special leaves from KSR Bengaluru at 5am and reaches Bangarpet at 6.03am.
In the return direction, train no.06546 Bangarpet – KSR Bengaluru MEMU special departs from Bangarpet at 10.15pm and reaches KSR Bengaluru at 11.45pm. The train will have stoppages at Bengaluru Cantonment, Byappanahallli, Krishnarajapuram, Hudi halt, Whitefield, Devangonthi, Malur and Tyakal in both directions. The train will have services of six days in a week. It will not run on Sunday. Consequent to the starting of above MEMU special, the timings of train no.66528 /66527 Kuppam – Bangarpet – Kuppam MEMU and train no.16521 Bangarpet – KSR Bengaluru Express will be revised.
SWR recently launched 06559 KSR Bengaluru – Whitefield / 06560 Whitefield – Bengaluru Cantonment DEMU special to benefit passengers traveling between Bengaluru and Whitefield.
