Livingston-based woodland activity business Kids Gone Wild was named Best Children’s Attraction at the fourth Scottish Outdoor and Leisure Awards (SOLA) in Glasgow on November 1.

Kids Gone Wild provides outdoors and woodland based experiences to children across Scotland.

The activities include den building, tree climbing, fire lighting, tool skills and knife work, whittling, bug hunting and highland games among various holiday camps and charity fundraising initiatives.

The company aims to inspire children to explore, enjoy and appreciate the outdoors so that they learn to care for their surroundings and protect them for the next generation.

Lauren Riddell, founder of Kids Gone Wild, said: “We are delighted to win this award and really surprised. There were so many worthy and inspiring businesses, all who share the same passion and understand the hard work that goes into running a business like ours.”

“My partner Rob and I started Kids Gone Wild just over a year ago and couldn’t have predicted how fast the business would grow. We now provide several West Lothian schools with after school clubs, school programmes, host birthday parties, overnight outdoor camps and are starting to offer corporate wellbeing days for the big kids, in addition to running regular baby and toddler bushcraft sessions.

“Our business is very family focused and we wouldn’t have had the success we have without our extended Kids Gone Wild family, who we would really like to thank. They all do such amazing work with the kids and families in our community.”
