Van Oord is the first national partner of the Dutch Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai and an agreement was signed at the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition & Conference (Adipec).
Netherlands Consul General and Commissioner General to Expo 2020 Dubai Hans Sandee and Van Oord's area manager Koen Sweers signed the agreement.
Hans Sandee, Consul General Dubai and Commissioner General to Expo 2020 Dubai, said: "We are very happy to welcome Van Oord as our first National Partner of the Dutch participation of the Expo 2020. The company's impressive track record in marine engineering and permanent presence in the area make Van Oord an important partner for the Dutch pavilion. Together with them, we will showcase Dutch solutions, knowledge and expertise for a more sustainable future."
Van Oord has been involved in some iconic waterfront and infrastructure projects in the Middle East over the past 40 years, and specifically in Dubai. It will play an active role in various programme components for the Dutch Pavilion at Expo 2020, inviting clients and partners from all over the world to visit the Dutch Pavilion throughout the six months of the Expo, especially during theme weeks and on the Netherlands' national day. This edition of the World Expo will take place between October 2020 and April 2021.
Koen Sweers, area manager at Van Oord, said: "We believe our role as national partner of the Dutch Pavilion at Expo 2020 will provide the perfect opportunity for Van Oord to share its market knowledge and its expertise in marine engineering and energy infrastructure." - business@khaleejtimes.com
