Dhanush’s Asuran, which hit screens on October 4, made it to the Rs 100 crore club within ten days of release. While it has been confirmed that Venkatesh will step into the shoes of Dhanush for the Telugu remake, we hear Shriya Saran is likely to reprise Manju Warrior’s role.
According to a source, the actress has met the makers in Hyderabad and expressed her interest to be a part of the film, produced by Suresh Babu and Kalaipuli S Thanu. “However, she is yet to sign on the dotted line,” adds the source.
If Shriya Saran comes on board, this will be her fourth collaboration with Venkatesh, after Subash Chandra Bose (2005), Tulasi (2007) and Gopala Gopala (2015).
Reports suggest that Hanu Raghavapudi or Raju Gari Gadhi fame Ohmkar will direct this intense action drama. An official announcement about the cast and crew will be made soon.
Shriya Saran, who was last seen in NTR: Kathanayakudu, currently, has a film with Vimal on the cards.
Asuran, based on Poomani’s novel Vekkai, revolves around the life of a Dalit man who avenges the death of his family members.
The Vetrimaaran directorial continues to run in the theaters of Tamil Nadu, despite streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
