Talent which transcends borders: Ayushmann Khurrana’s ‘Bala’ and ‘Andhadun’ to debut in Japan and Saudi Arabia

Undoubtedly one of the finest actors of our time, Ayushmann Khurrana has been ruling the box office and the hearts of a million Indians. His performances in films have earned him critical acclaim and made him a household name, almost instantaneously.
After the massive success of the critically acclaimed film, ‘Andhadhun’, Raaj Shaandilyaa directorial ‘Dream Girl’ and now, Amar Kaushik’s ‘Bala’, Ayushmann Khurrana’s films are all set to make a debut on the foreign soil.

Film ‘Andhadun’, which won the Roadies-fame actor a National Award, will be releasing in Japan on November 15. Earlier this year, the film was released in China, Korea, Russia and Kazakhastan. The movie hit the Indian box office last year in October and has minted Rs 95.63 crore.

The film also won the National Award for Best Hindi Film this year. This is what the Japanese poster of the film looks like.


However, Ayushmann and his fans have another reason to cheer. ‘Bala’ has become the first movie starring the 35-year-old actor to release in Saudi Arabia.

In a tweet, movie critic and analyst Taran Adarsh announced that ‘Bala’ had cleared all the requirements of the censor board and will hit the screens on 14 November.


Apart from Ayushmann, ‘Bala’ features actresses Bhumi Pednekar and Yami Gautam in lead roles. The movie is the story of Bala, a man who suffers from premature balding and struggles to make peace with the stigma and societal pressure that comes along with it.
